Portsmouth have been told they face the threat of expulsion from the Football League if the Pompey Supporters Trust (PST) fail in their bid to buy the League One club.
Portsmouth's administrators, PKF, on Thursday revealed they had received a new offer from former Football League chairman Keith Harris which would rival the PST's bid.
But the Football League reacted to that news by releasing a statement making it clear they would not consider any new bids for the 2008 FA Cup winners.
