Clermont defeated defending champions Toulouse 39-17 on Saturday to reach the French Top 14 semi-finals, a victory which also ensured a last-four place for Toulon. Toulouse will still feature in the end of season play-offs where they will be joined by Castres, Racing-Metro and Montpellier. Clermont went top of the table, two points ahead of fellow European Cup semi-finalists Toulon. But Toulon can retake top spot later Saturday when they face Grenoble.
