Korea's gross domestic product (GDP), the broadest measure of economic performance, was compared with a previous estimate of a 2.8 percent on-year gain, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK). The economy grew a revised 2.3 percent in 2012. The 2013 data marked the fastest yearly growth since 2011 when the GDP grew 3.7 percent.

Mexico economy expands in January, but services slip

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico's economy expanded in January as industry grew at its fastest pace in nearly a year, the national statistics agency said on Tuesday, but a slight contraction in the services sector pointed to sluggish growth. Mexico's economy grew 0.09 percent in January from December at a seasonally adjusted pace, up from a slightly revised 0.26 percent contraction in December.

Mexico City, Mar 14 (EFE).- Mexican industrial production rose 0.7 percent in January relative to the same month of 2013, the National Statistics Institute, or INEGI, said. That increase was driven mainly by greater output in the manufacturing sector, up 2.5 percent, while utilities posted a 0.3 percent gain, the institute said in a statement. By contrast, construction and mining output fell 2.5 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively, in the first month of 2014 compared to January 2013.

Mexico City, Feb 21 (EFE).- Mexico's gross domestic product expanded 1.1 percent in 2013, below the official forecast of 1.3 percent growth and the smallest annual gain since the global recession of 2009, the National Statistics Institute, or Inegi, said Friday. In the fourth quarter of last year, the country's GDP rose 0.7 percent in real terms compared to the same three-month period of 2012.
