World Boxing Council champion Floyd Mayweather extended his perfect record to 44 victories Saturday, beating Robert Guerrero by unanimous decision in their welterweight title fight. Mayweather, who was defending his title for the first time since serving close to three months in jail last year after being convicted of domestic violence, dominated Guerrero for the majority of the fight at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. All three judges scored the 12-round fight 117-111 in favour of Mayweather.

Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez and unbeaten US boxer Tim Bradley, who each beat Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao last year, will fight each other in September, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday. Promoter Bob Arum told the newspaper that Marquez would take on Bradley in Las Vegas on September 14 for the World Boxing Organization welterweight crown that Bradley took from Pacquiao by split decision last June. "Marquez wanted to fight Bradley and Bradley wanted to fight Marquez," Arum told the Times.

Robert Guerrero, set to fight Floyd Mayweather in five weeks, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly trying to take a handgun onto an airplane, prosecutors in New York said.The 30-year-old Guerrero was arrested at John F.
