New York Yankees superstar shortstop Derek Jeter has been cleared to resume full baseball activities and run on his surgically repaired left ankle, the team said Thursday.
Jeter was examined on Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina, by doctor Robert Anderson, who performed the initial surgery after Jeter broke his left ankle in last year's American League Championship Series.
Anderson determined that the injury is healing.
Jeter, a 13-time All-Star, played in 159 games last year, his most since 2005, and batted .316 with 15 homers and 58 runs batted in.
