At least four dead in California shootings

A string of shootings after an apparent carjacking in southern California Tuesday left at least four people dead, including the suspected gunmen, police said. Two others were injured before the suspected gunman shot and killed himself, after officers found him in a stolen vehicle and pursued him into the city of Orange, California. "At this stage we do have four dead including the gunman," Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino told KTLA 5 television, adding that the suspected gunman was a man in his 20s.

The Los Angeles Times put the toll at four dead and said the suspected gunman shot and killed himself after officers found him in a stolen vehicle and pursued him into the city of Orange, California. Three people were shot in Tustin, about 35 miles southeast of Los Angeles, and two others were shot in nearby areas, said Tustin police department spokesman Paul Garaven.
