Pele says Brazil's Neymar is "average" player

Sao Paulo, Feb 21 (EFE).- Neymar is an "average" player on Brazil's national team, according to soccer legend Pele, who advised the highly touted striker to play for Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona if he leaves Santos FC to compete overseas.

SAO PAULO, Feb 20 (Reuters) - Brazil are placing too much hope on the shoulders of Neymar and the 21-year-old becomes "an ordinary player" when represents his country, according to Pele. Neymar, who plays for Santos where Pele spent nearly all of his career, has been billed as the best player to have emerged from Brazil in the last few years and is expected to lead the attack at the 2014 World Cup.
