Denmark's Jannik Hansen was slapped with a one-game ban Wednesday after he delivered an illegal check to the head of Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa.
Vancouver Canucks forward Hansen was suspended by the National Hockey League's disciplinary committee for a forearm smash to the back of Hossa's head in the third period of Chicago's 4-3 win.
Hansen, who was also fined $7,300, was given a two-minute penalty on the play.
