Mexico City, Feb 14 (EFE).- The government is implementing a national policy to promote tourism development and creating a "tourism Cabinet" made up of officials from the different levels of government, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto said.
Tourism accounts for nearly 9 percent of Mexico's gross domestic product and the industry's employees earn pay that is 30 percent above the national average, Peña Nieto said during an event in Bahia de Banderas, a city in the western state Nayarit.
