Austin, Apr 21 (EFE).- Spanish photographer Janire Najera is crisscrossing more than 3,000 kilometers (nearly 2,000 miles) of roads between New Mexico and California in search of the Spanish roots of the U.S. Southwest.
"What I've seen in New Mexico, I hadn't seen anywhere else in the United States, it's awesome," Najera, who works out of Wales and Bilbao, Spain, told Efe.
"The people you find, the way they know their culture, how proud they are of Spain. In fact, there are Spanish flags in the streets and on the cars," the photographer said.
