Chicago Fire forward Mike Magee, who scored 21 goals this season, has been voted the 2013 MLS most valuable player, the league announced on Thursday.
The 29-year-old beat out the other two finalists, Los Angeles Galaxy forward Robbie Keane and Montreal Impact forward Marco Di Vaio, for the award.
Magee came to Chicago in a trade on May 25 from the Galaxy, recording 15 goals and four assists in 22 games with Los Angeles. His half a dozen goals with the Galaxy also stretched his season total to 21 goals, one fewer than league leader Camilo Sanvezzo.
