U.S. artists in charity race for Puerto Rico dogs, cats

San Juan, Aug 7 (EFE).- Cast members of the American television comedy-drama series "Devious Maids" and other U.S. artists will compete Saturday in a charity race to benefit the PetSOS organization, which is working to upgrade an animal shelter in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rican actress Roselyn Sanchez said Tuesday in a press conference that her fellow cast members in the series, executive co-produced by Eva Longoria, will take part in the invitation-only "Amazing Paw Paw Race" in the U.S. commonwealth.

Actress Roselyn Sanchez creates foundation to aid children, animals

San Juan, Jul 29 (EFE).- Puerto Rican actress Roselyn Sanchez has created a foundation, RS Events for Life, for the purpose of collecting funds to help children and animals, her publicist said Monday. To that end, the actress is organizing the Amazing Paw Paw Race Puerto Rico, to be held Aug. 10, on this occasion as a benefit for the PetSOS Foundation.

Puerto Rican boxer Hector Sanchez murdered

San Juan, Mar 3 (EFE).- Puerto Rican boxer Hector "El Flaco" Sanchez was shot multiple times and killed Sunday in San Juan in an incident in which three other men died, the third such massacre so far this year on the Caribbean island. Sanchez's mother, Carmen Garcia, confirmed her son's death to the daily El Nuevo Dia when she came out of the Centro Medico, the island's main hospital, where the athlete was being treated.
