Car bomb 'targets Ukrainian Jewish community leader'

Ukrainian businessman and president of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress, Vadim Rabinovich, said Monday he had been targeted by a car bombing in central Kiev. "On Monday at around 15:36 (13:36 GMT) an attempt was made on the life of Vadim Rabinovich," the website of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress said. The website said that "an explosive device was thrown" into Rabinovich's moving car as it drew out from an office courtyard, causing windows to smash in nearby buildings. It was unclear whether the 59-year-old was in the car at the time.
