HALIFAX - The union representing Nova Scotia's paramedics met Friday with the employer and a conciliator, but it was unclear whether both sides were any closer to reaching an agreement before a potential strike next week.
Stacey Brown, a spokeswoman for Emergency Medical Care Inc., said no new talks were planned between the company and Local 727 of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
"The meeting is over for today and I can't get into the specifics of what was discussed," Brown said in an email. "Our next step is to regroup internally at this point."
