Eva Longoria joins cast of horror film "Visions"

Los Angeles, Feb 13 (EFE).- "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria has signed to appear in "Visions," a horror film to be directed by "Saw" series veteran Kevin Greutert, Deadline reported. Longoria joins a cast that already includes Isla Fisher, Anson Mount and Gillian Jacobs. Jim Parsons, of "The Big Bang Theory," is in talks to join the project, Deadline said. Fisher plays a pregnant woman plagued by visions of a "sinister hooded figure," while Longoria's character is her best friend.

Though the supposed news story turned out to be a joke, the actress apparently did not take it that way, judging by her indignant rebuttal on Twitter, in which she denied the report. "Latin Post IS responsible for inaccuracies! U should check ur sources Melissa Castellanos before printing. And now REPRINTING! Idiots," the actress wrote on her official Twitter account.

Eva Longoria voices animated series on motherhood

US star Eva Longoria has lent her voice to animated television series "Mother Up!" with a character struggling with the challenges of motherhood. Longoria is also an executive producer of the 13-episode series, which debuted Wednesday on online video websites Hulu and Hulu Plus. Longoria's character Rudi Wilson is a former New York City music executive who finds herself hopelessly ill-equipped to handle her two children as she resettles in suburbia without her husband or nanny.

Eva Longoria almost kills herself in production of short film

Miami, Oct 25 (EFE).- Actress Eva Longoria said she almost killed herself during the shoot of a short film she directed and starred in. "I almost killed myself," she said, recounting the experience of making "Out of the Blue" during an appearance on ABC TV's "The View." "I'm oooold... I hurt my back, I hurt my hip." Longoria, 38, got banged up doing her own stunts for the role of a sexy assassin in the short action film. The actress noted that she also likes being behind the camera. "I love directing and producing. I prefer it, actually," Longoria said.

Eva Longoria, Ernesto Arguello split, People says

Washington, Aug 23 (EFE).- Actress Eva Longoria and businessman Ernesto Arguello decided to call off their romance just four months after they started dating, People magazine said Friday. According to the celeb publication, the split was due to the incompatibly busy work schedules of both including their constant travels. Longoria lives in Los Angeles, where she is fully occupied with her own TV production company, while the Honduran entrepreneur and philanthropist lives in Miami and makes numerous trips to Central America.

Eva Longoria calls for greater access to education for Latinos

New Orleans, Jul 21 (EFE).- Actress and activist Eva Longoria called for improved access to higher education for young Latinos in the United States, including undocumented immigrants, saying that it is time to find solutions to this matter because "we already know the barriers." "The barriers have not changed in the last 30 or 40 years, and so we have to stop identifying them; we know what the barriers are, whether they be socio-economic status, immigration, language barriers, financial," Longoria said at a forum in New Orleans.

Eva Longoria gets Master's degree in Chicano Studies

Los Angeles, May 23 (EFE).- Actress Eva Longoria graduated this week with a Master's degree in Chicano Studies that she had been pursuing over the past three years at California State University, Northridge, she revealed Thursday on the TMZ Web page. At an official graduation ceremony on Wednesday, the 38-year-old star of "Desperate Housewives" collected her diploma, which she earned in part by writing a thesis entitled "Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers." "STEM" is the acronym for science, technology, engineering and math.
