Tennis-Tight spot no problem for triumphant Kuznetsova

By Mark Lamport-Stokes INDIAN WELLS, California, March 8 (Reuters) - Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova found herself in a tight spot in more ways than one at the BNP Paribas Open on Friday but managed to escape with a come-from-behind victory after a timely wardrobe change. Overwhelmed in the opening set on a chilly day at Indian Wells, Kuznetsova immediately felt more comfortable when she discarded her leggings and went on to upset 18th-seeded Serb Jelena Jankovic 0-6 6-2 7-5 in the second round.

Tennis: Quick change gives Kuznetsova leg up

Two-time Grand Slam champion Svetlana Kuznetsova's cold-weather wardrobe proved more trouble than the chilly temperatures on Friday at the Indian Wells ATP Masters and WTA tournament. The Russian had to bounce back from being blanked in the opening set to beat former World No. 1 Jelena Jankovic 0-6, 6-2, 7-5. "I tried to play in the long tight pants first set. I cannot," said Kuznetsova, who advanced to a third-round meeting with ninth-seeded Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli.
