SUNCHEON, South Korea, Oct. 17 (Yonhap) -- The 184-day Suncheon Bay Garden Expo has attracted 4 million visitors as of Saturday since it opened on April 16, the event's organizer said Thursday, successfully reaching its target.
The event, which runs under the theme of "Garden of the Earth," is held in Suncheon, 415 kilometers south of Seoul, until Oct. 20. Two months after the event launched, it attracted 2 million visitors.
Cho Chung-hoon, the mayor of Suncheon, attributed the event's success to people's improved awareness and interest in the environment and ecosystems.
