OF Kole Calhoun was promoted Sunday from Triple-A Salt Lake, filling the roster spot that opened when 1B Albert Pujols was placed on the disabled list. Calhoun started in right field and hit eighth in the order against Oakland. He was batting .354 at Salt Lake with 15 doubles, six triples and 12 home runs and 49 RBIs. Last season, he appeared in 21 games with the Angels, batting .174 (4-for-23) with one double and one RBI. "I think Kole has the ability to play all three outfield spots and has played first base," manager Mike Scioscia said before the game.
