England beat Australia by 48 runs in their Champions Trophy Group A opener at Edgbaston on Saturday.
Defending champions Australia, set 270 to win, finished on 221 for nine.
England made 269 for six after winning the toss, Ian Bell top-scoring with 91 on his Warwickshire home ground.
This was the first match in a Group A also featuring New Zealand and Sri Lanka, who meet in Cardiff on Sunday.
In Group B, India have already beaten South Africa and the West Indies have defeated Pakistan.
