Estonian Air to serve the St Petersburg-Tallinn route with bigger aircraft

Starting from April 2013, Estonian Air operates the route between Tallinn and St Petersburg with a bigger aircraft - a 88-seater CRJ900 NextGen and 76-seater Embraer 170 aircraft.

Estonian Air carried 121,691 passengers in Q1

Estonian national carrier Estonian Air announced that in the first three months of the year, it carried altogether 121,691 passengers, out of which 120,080 on regular flights.In March Estonian Air carried 45,451 passengers, out of which 44,453 on regular flights. In the first three months last year, Estonian Air carried 139,157 and year before last 120,155 passengers.

Estonia Air reports 35.8 mn euro operating loss in 2012

Struggling Baltic carrier Estonian Air said Thursday it was optimistic despite registering a net loss of 49.2 million euros ($63.5 million) last year. The majority state-owned airline is now implementing a new business model that will have it become a cost-efficient regional carrier focusing on a handful of profitable routes. The airline's revenue rose to 91.5 million euros, up from 76.1 million in 2011, but revenue from transfer traffic was disappointing and the company suffered an operating loss of 35.8 million euros. ar-bo-amj/rl
