Longtime NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw diagnosed with cancer

By Eric Kelsey and Steve Gorman LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Veteran news anchor Tom Brokaw, the face of "NBC Nightly News" for more than two decades, has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer affecting blood cells in the bone marrow, but is hopeful about the outcome of his treatment, the network said on Tuesday.

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Fox Business Network says new hire Maria Bartiromo will launch her two-hour weekday program starting Feb. 24. "Opening Bell with Maria Bartiromo" will air from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Eastern time. The former CNBC anchor-reporter joined Fox Business Network last month as its global markets editor. Bartiromo left CNBC in November after 20 years. She pioneered daily live reporting from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and has won two news and documentary Emmys. Fox Business Network is available in more than 70 million homes.

Bartiromo's contract ends Nov. 24, concluding 20 years with CNBC, the channel said Monday. The New York Times and others reported Bartiromo is joining Fox Business Network. CNBC President and Chief Executive Mark Hoffman announced Bartiromo's departure in a memo to employees on Monday and said she will leave the company when her contract expires on November 24.

ABC News 'Nightline' anchor Moran named network's London-based chief foreign correspondent

NEW YORK, N.Y. - ABC News "Nightline" anchor Terry Moran is getting a new posting as the network's London-based chief foreign correspondent. Moran will head overseas late this summer, ABC said Wednesday. Moran was ABC's chief White House correspondent from 1999 to 2005 and has done many overseas and domestic stories for "Nightline," most recently from Syria. It's a revived position at ABC News. The late Peter Jennings spent several years as a London-based correspondent before becoming the network's chief news anchor.
