Racing: National champion Mania leaves hospital

Grand National winner Ryan Mania left hospital on Tuesday after an MRI scan revealed he sustained only minor injuries in a fall the day after his Aintree triumph. The 23-year-old was taken to hospital after tumbling from his mount on his return to action in Hexham, northeast England on Sunday, a day after his National victory on 66-1 outsider Auroras Encore. The Scot was kicked between the shoulder blades after his fall and spent two nights in hospital but a scan of his neck and back showed no serious damage.

The Scot appeared to receive a kick between the shoulder blades after his fall and was set to undergo a final MRI scan later on Tuesday before being allowed to go home.

Scientists in Japan said Friday they had found a way to "read" people's dreams, using MRI scanners to unlock some of the secrets of the unconscious mind. Researchers have managed what they said was "the world's first decoding" of night-time visions, the subject of centuries of speculation that have captivated humanity since ancient times.
