MoHC’s evaluation of Oman's cultural recital groups begins

As per Ministerial Decision 121/2010, the Ministry of Heritage and Culture (MoHC) on Sunday began evaluating cultural recital groups for issuing them licences.The evaluation team includes Mohammed Obaid al Maskari, head of library department, MoHC; Rashid Musallam al Hashmi, head of music department, MoHC, and Ahmed Abdullah al Shibani, a chanter at Sultan Qaboos University.The evaluation committee is chaired by Sayyid Said bin Sultan bin Yarub al Busaidi, director of MoHC's folklore dances directorate. One band is evaluated every Sunday.

Crackdown on illegal holdings in Muscat's Seeb area begins

Muscat Municipality's directorate general in Seeb has launched a drive to remove holdings and buildings that violate regulations and laws.Mushin bin Ali al Harthi, a senior legal researcher at the directorate general pointed out to that the eight buildings demolished recently were from the 20 marked as encroachments.The listed holdings are in Jifnain and South Mabela and are being removed according to decision number 13/2010, a release said.The municipality has set a deadline for owners of the holdings to bring documents and papers stating their ownership to those land
