Moscow, Sep 13 (EFE).- The predawn fire that devastated a psychiatric hospital in Russia's Novgorod region has left 37 people dead, authorities said.
Fifteen bodies have been recovered up to now, and rescue teams continue to search through the rubble of the building, according to an official at the Emergency Management Ministry, cited by Russian news agencies.
Firefighters needed nearly eight hours to extinguish the blaze, which broke out around 3:30 a.m., the ministry said.
The hospital, which was a wooden building, was completely destroyed.
