Demand Media co-founder, chairman, CEO Rosenblatt exits

By Jennifer Saba (Reuters) - Demand Media Inc Chairman and CEO Richard Rosenblatt is leaving the online content company he co-founded, its board announced on Monday. The directors named Shawn Colo, who is also a co-founder, as the company's interim president and chief executive. James Quandt, a board member, was named chairman. The board said in a news release it would start a search for a permanent CEO shortly.

Demand Media revenue growth slows in second quarter

(Reuters) - Demand Media <DMD.N>, the online content company that operates brands such as eHow and Cracked, said on Wednesday its total year-on-year revenue growth slowed to 9 percent in the second quarter to $101.1 million, as growth slowed at its sites. Adjusted net income for the second quarter rose to $8.8 million, or 10 cents per share from $7.8 million, or 9 cents per share in the same quarter last year. Demand Media revenue and profit beat estimates

By Jennifer Saba (Reuters) - Demand Media reported on Tuesday better-than-expected first quarter revenue and profit on growth at its media websites like eHow, Livestrong and Cracked. Demand Media makes its money in two ways. In its media business, freelance writers, photographers and videographers provide articles and videos designed to appear at the top of Internet search that in turn generate advertising. The other is a registrar business that maintains top level generic web domain names like ".actor" and ".social."
