Golf: Stenson seizes lead as weather halts Players

Henrik Stenson was two-under through eight holes on Saturday and held a one-shot lead over Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia when thunderstorms halted play at the Players Championship. Sweden's Stenson birdied the fourth and sixth holes in the third round to get to 11-under for the tournament. That put him atop the leaderboard ahead of overnight leader Garcia and Woods, who came into the third round trailing the Spaniard by a stroke. Garcia was one-over for the day through six holes after a bogey at the par-five sixth.

Stenson was two-under through eight holes, and one shot in front of Garcia and Woods, when thunderstorms halted play for just under two hours on the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course. Sweden's Stenson had birdied the fourth and sixth holes to get to 11-under for the tournament, with Woods and Garcia both at 10-under when play was stopped.
