Our Leadership
Meet the leadership of GlobalPost Media Corporation.
GlobalPost Media was born through the long association of the founders of its major publications – Phil Balboni, the founder and former CEO of DailyChatter and GlobalPost, and Hampton Stephens, the founder and publisher of World Politics Review (WPR) – who have known each other since 2008, two years after the launch of WPR and the year GlobalPost was being formed. They shared a deep commitment to helping people understand the world in all its complexity and diversity, and they had a mutual love of entrepreneurship.
Over the years they would occasionally discuss joining forces, but it wasn’t until the fall of 2022 that the talks took a serious turn, leading to an agreement to consolidate into GlobalPost Media Corporation. Phil and Hampton and our leadership team and staff look forward to building a journalism company of long duration that’s focused on global news and analysis for readers around the world.
